Belle 2
Inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral. Raised by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield and his wife, Belle's lineage affords her certain privileges, yet the color of her skin prevents her from fully participating in the traditions of her social standing. Left to wonder if she will ever find love, Belle falls for an idealistic young vicar's son bent on change who, with her help, shapes Lord Mansfield's role as Lord Chief Justice to end slavery in England.

     Host a Filmmaker
Sonoma International Film Festival
April 2 - 6
If you have an extra bedroom, cottage, or guest quarters in your Sonoma (or surrounding areas) home, we ask that you to consider hosting a filmmaker during the upcoming Festival.

Host families tell us that they love getting to know their guests and getting the personal behind-the-scene stories of how their films got written, funded, and produced.

Last year we had over 200 filmmakers stay in Sonoma and they all left feeling welcomed and saying, "I can't wait to come back; everyone was so friendly."  "I love Sonoma."

Go to: and give us your contact and housing information.  It will only take a few moments to complete.

♦  Many of you have experienced housing a filmmaker so you know the fun and rewards

♦  Hosts are given one Festival Day Pass for each guest.  The pass is access to all films, panels and backlot tent for the day of your choice.

♦  Hosts have a special invite to Industry Mixer on Friday, April 4 which is a special event for filmmakers, media, jurors, and film industry leaders

♦  If you have not hosted, then you can do for the first time this year

♦  We match our filmmakers to hosts based upon your accommodations and any restrictions or requests you have
Thank you for filling out the questionnaire.
